It's obvious that TDE's roster is filled with immensely talented artists -- Kendrick Lamar, Ab Soul, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, SZA and Isaiah Rashad -- but the team behind-the-scenes is equally passionate about the music.
Case in point: TDE's president Terrence "Punch" Henderson, who's surprised us with solo music over the past few months, including the recent track "25," with a feature from Kendrick. But if this came as a surprise to fans of the label, Kendrick Lamar thinks that Punch has been way overdue to release some music.
"Punch [has] always been a crazy lyricist aside from being a pioneer in the company," Kendrick told MTV News. "He always had the knack for music and that's what inspires the actual company. Every body has so much passion for the art, it's not just on the business end, so they know how to cater to the artists."
"We've seen this a long time ago, [it's been] 10 years in the making," he said of Punch's musical skill. "So him going out there and not being afraid to put these crazy records out -- that we've been telling him [to] -- it's actually an achievement and I'm proud of it. Because talent, you can't hide that."
It's about time, Punch.
