It's simple: Mariah Carey and Las Vegas belong together.
On Thursday morning (Jan. 15), the elusive chanteuse announced that she'll be doing a residency at Sin City's Caesars Palace. In an interview on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," the singer opened up about her upcoming "special event."
"I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this 'cause I'm gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album #1's, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them," Carey said. "Hopefully other people will enjoy this."
The full interview with Ellen -- including a bit where Mariah dresses up as a chambermaid and surprises fans at Caesars -- will air today.
Mimi will be joining other pop stars who have gone the Vegas route, including Britney Spears, who renewed her residency at Planet Hollywood into 2017, and Celine Dion, whom TMZ says may be postponing her Caesars Palace dates in March to look after her sick husband.
