There are very few songs that reach what I like to call "Walgreens Status" -- that is, it's so ubiquitous that you're guaranteed to hear it every time you walk into a commonly frequented place, like Walgreens.
And I mean every. Single. Tiiiiiime.
Pharrell Williams' "Happy" was one of those songs last year, spending 10 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014, and it looks like he might soon duplicate that success with his and Gwen Stefani's "Shine" -- the video for which dropped Tuesday (January 13).
"Shine" shares a couple of similarities with the "Despicable Me 2" track, namely that it was written for the soundtrack of another animated film, "Paddington" (hitting theaters January 16). Do you realize what kind of push it will have? That little bear probably has some big pull in the industry.
Plus, Pharrell's involved. And Gwen. If their approximately 47 buhjillion combined hits haven't convinced you otherwise, these two know how to write a catchy song.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
