Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith have been very outspoken about their desire to one day be husband and wife, and now they're one step closer to that special goal: The "Teen Mom 2"'s beau got down on one knee while on vacation in St. Thomas and asked Jenelle to spend the rest of her life with him. She joyfully accepted his heartfelt proposal, so let the wedding planning begin!

But even before the ultra-romantic engagement, fans of the hit MTV series have been following the pair's relationship journey -- from the early stages as they went on their first date to becoming parents to their son Kaiser, and everything in between. To celebrate Jenelle and Nathan's exciting news, we're taking a look back at their road to "I do":

The very first mention

Jenelle couldn't help but gush to her mom Barbara about her crush, who she'd been communicating with on a dating app. Even though the two hadn't come face-to-face yet, Jenelle seemed positively smitten with Nathan. But Barbara wasn't so sure of her daughter's new romantic prospect. "He could be a serial killer!" Babs said with a chuckle, as Jenelle laughed.

A mini-golfing outing to remember

After texting and chatting for an extended period of time, the duo finally met in person -- and sparks flew as they hit the course. But it wasn't just about playing the fun-filled game: They were connecting on a deeper level, addressing their pasts and the most bizarre things they've ever done.

Making moves

The two were inseparable after their initial date, and Jenelle decided that the distance between them was too great. So she left her mom's house and opted to live under the same roof as Nathan.

A big (baby) decision

The lovebirds concluded that, after a whirlwind few months together, they were ready to start a family of their own. During this candid convo, they opened up about why they'd each make a perfect parent to their potential bundle of joy.

We're pregnant!

Who could forget the big grin on Nathan's face after his girlfriend excitedly spilled the news?! They then sealed the celebration with a bunch of kisses.

Shortly after finding out that they would be welcoming a son during a routine doctor's appointment, the duo revealed the little one's gender to both Babs and Jenelle's firstborn Jace -- along with the name they'd picked out for their bun in the oven. Or as Barbara referred to it, a type of beer.

Hitting the books together

Before Kaiser's arrival, Jenelle told Nathan that she wanted to go back to school and work toward her career as a medical clinical technician. Nathan admitted that he wanted to get his education back on track as well. And with that, they enrolled in classes, and joint study sessions ensued.

Expanding their brood

Happy birthday, Baby K! Of course, Jenelle was in a lot of pain during labor -- but Nathan was by her side every step of the way and offered plenty of encouragement.

The future sure looks bright

After talking with Barbara about a plan to regain custody of Jace, the young couple enjoyed a casual day in the park with the kids. Kaiser's parents reflected on the precious positive conversation, and they both seemed confident and hopeful about the impending changes in their lives.
