According to the Making Star Wars, rumor-mill blog for all things concerning the galaxy far, far away, Aaron Paul may be circling a role in a super-top-secret, super-hypothetical "Star Wars" spin-off film focusing on Han Solo.
This is all coming from the blog, which, it should be noted, was pretty spot-on with some of their spoils and leaks about the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." But even given their track record, it's important to note that none of this has been officially confirmed.
In a conversation with one of their allegedly credible sources, Making Star Wars discovered that a never-before-seen spin-off was in the works.
"Today's information comes from a friend that did give us legit 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' set photos and more," the site stated, before adding that details allegedly came from Pinewood Studios, the veritable home of all things "Star Wars."
Reportedly code named "Luminac Industrial Goods," the film will be a first for the George Lucas-crafted world. Never before has a single character gotten a standalone spin-off, but there's word that "filming will eventually overlap with some of Star Wars: Episode VIII" and center on Han Solo in some way. Though one can only assume it's backstory, particularly when you consider that Solo's part is "gigantic" in the upcoming installment. Curiouser and curiouser!
The site added that though "there was no direct implication he was playing Han Solo," that "Aaron Paul is looking to be attached... in some fashion."
The role of Han Solo — originated by Harrison Ford — has long been a beloved part of the greater "Star Wars" universe and no doubt has an interesting origin story we've not yet seen. Given that Paul played a total renegade on "Breaking Bad," it feels appropriate that he'd fill the shoes of Chewbacca's best friend and rogue operator of the Millennium Falcon.
