'The Interview' Will Be Released On Christmas After All: Here's Where You Can Watch

It's a Christmas miracle - for everybody but Kim Jong-Un.

Christmas has finally come for actors James Franco and Seth Rogen.

On December 23, multiple theaters across the U.S. announced that they would indeed be showing "The Interview" on its scheduled Christmas Day release, despite Sony initially canceling the film's release altogether after the hacker group Guardians of Peace threatened a terrorist response.

"Breaking news: Sony has authorized screenings of THE INTERVIEW on Christmas Day. We are making shows available within the hour. #Victory," tweeted Tim League, founder of the famous indie theater chain Alamo Drafthouse.

The Plaza Atlanta theater also announced plans to screen the film on its Facebook page, and The Hollywood Reporter says that Sony is telling theater owners that the film will simultaneously be offered via Video OnDemand.

Update:

Michael Lynton, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, released a statement to the press on Tuesday afternoon, announcing the film's limited release.

"We have never given up on releasing 'The Interview' and we're excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day," the statement says. "At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience.

"I want to thank our talent on 'The Interview' and our employees, who have worked tirelessly through the many challenges we have all faced over the last month. While we hope this is only the first step in the film's release, we are proud to make it available to the public and to have stood up to those who attempted to suppress free speech."

No major chains have committed to screening the film just yet, but Southside Works Cinema in Pittsburgh tweeted that they will also be showing the film.
