Drake Says The Toronto Raptors' Redesigned Logo Was Executed Without Him

But he does have a Mitchell & Ness collab on the way!

It was just last week that the Toronto Raptors honored their hometown hero and global ambassador with "Drake Night." Drizzy went all out for the occasion, doing his best sports commentator impression—no matter how embarrassing—and gifting the crowd with free OVO Raptors tees. Now, one week later, it appears Drake is distancing himself from the team's freshly unveiled new logo.

Drake's name has gotten wrapped up in the team's redesign effort, and he is making it plain that he had no part in it. The drama started when the Raptors revealed their new logo on Friday, which not only looks a whole lot like the Brooklyn Nets' logo, the timing of it is very strange considering it's the middle of the season. Shortly after, sports writer Cathal Kelly speculated that the new logo could have been the work of the OVO head, calling it "the Drake-inspired...redesign"—and Drake quickly interjected, tweeting, "Actually this redesign was executed without me."

On a more positive note, Drizzy does have a sports design project coming out soon. Within the same tweet, Drake prompted a thousand prayer hands with the announcement, "My collaboration with Mitchell & Ness comes out next season."

So, Drake didn't design this logo, but he will be designing new Raptors gear. But does that mean that Drake's new gear will be using the new logo? Or will he be redesigning the Raptors logo once again? OR will Drake he interpret the throwback logo in an OVO way again like he did with those giveaway shirts? (Seems the most likely outcome given Mitchell & Ness' whole ~nostalgia~ M.O.) This stirs up a lot of questions but, given his track record, Drake 100% has our vote of confidence.
