Watch Kendrick Lamar Perform A New Untitled Track On 'The Colbert Report'
For fans wondering what to expect from Kendrick Lamar's new album, we may have gotten another taste Tuesday night.
During an appearance on "The Colbert Report" -- he was the final musical guest before the show goes off the air on Thursday -- K. Dot debuted an untitled track that follows up his September single "i."
Accompanied by Anna Wise, Bilal, Terrace Martin and Thundercat, the TDE rapper put on his best storytelling hat for his latest. "I met this young lady, you know, when I went back home," he says, speaking, to open the track. "Then she asked me what he said."
From there, he preempts each set of bars with, "What the Asian say?," "What the Indian say?," and "What the black man say," before contrasting those experiences with, "What the white man say?" In classic Kendrick form, he uses creative song structure and lyricism to reflect on society from his personal point-of-view.
Still no word on when exactly we can expect the 27-year-old's good kid, m.A.A.d city follow up, but it's on the way.
