It's no secret that Miley Cyrus really wants you to free the nipple. And now we have the audio proof. The singer has recorded a cover of 1960's folk icon Melanie's "Look What They've Done To My Song, Ma" for Lina Esco‘s Sundance-selected feature, "Free The Nipple."
Miley has played the song live before, but this studio version is a bit grungier than the countrified version she's done on stage. "Cyrus recorded the song last August in two takes," Melanie wrote on her official site, quoting an interview in which Esco described the sessions. "This version—produced by Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes [of Australian dance band Pnau] —sounds different."
Esco told Variety the Miley-fied tune is, "more rock ‘n’ roll... It’s very Johnny Cash. Her voice is so raw, and the song is so raw." The movie is on VOD now and is slated to hit theaters in Los Angeles on December 26.
