D'Angelo's Surprise Album Made Celebrities Like Justin Timberlake And Miguel Lose It

This was 14 years in the making.

It's been difficult for other celebrities to recreate the flurry of excitement that accompanied Beyonce's surprise album release last year -- but D'Angelo might've finally measured up. The R&B singer blindsided fans when, out of the blue, he dropped a new project called Black Messiah on Monday morning (Dec. 15). This is his first album in 14 years, so people couldn't contain themselves. Celebrities and regular ol' fans were equally amped. See some of the reactions below.

The official announcement came very early on Monday (Dec. 15).

J. Cole was definitely excited, tweeting that he "Just copped D'angelo. Sh-- sounding crazy."

What up Atlanta. I'm trying to get lunch with somebody right now. If you at work I'll bring you lunch. YOU GOTTA HAVE D'ANGELO ALBUM THOUGH.

Solange only has one album on her mind.
