We're One Step Closer To Actually Seeing Childish Gambino's FX Show 'Atlanta'

A pilot is on the way.

We've been hearing about a new series created by Donald Glover -- known in the music world, of course, as Childish Gambino -- for over a year now, and we could be seeing it come to fruition soon.

On Friday (Dec. 12), FX gave a pilot order to the show, "Atlanta," according to Deadline. The site says that the series "revolves around two cousins on their way up the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy."

“Donald Glover is a uniquely talented actor and performer who brings real-life experience to this subject matter,” FX's Nick Grad said. “He, along with Paul Simms, has a very honest, sometimes serious, and funny perspective on life, the world of rap music and the city of Atlanta.”

It's been a good week for Donald, who is an executive produce on the series and will also star. Last Friday, he scored a nomination for Best Rap Album for Because the Internet and Best Rap Performance for "3005."
