This 'Star Wars' Fan Proposed To His Girlfriend With Darth Vader's Help

Darth Cupid strikes back!

The Dark Side of the Force isn't always used for galaxy-crushing evil. It's not always used to pull people apart. Sometimes, it's used to pull people together — as is the case in this unbelievably amazing love story.

"Star Wars" fan Steve Dempsey tells The Daily Dot all about how he proposed to his girlfriend, Amanda, with a little bit of help from an unlikely matchmaker: Darth Vader. Steve says he presented Amanda, also a big "Star Wars" lover, with a Lego replica of a Star Destroyer…

…which contained a Lego-sized Vader, holding up an engagement ring:

"The reason why I picked Darth Vader was not only because he is one of my favorite [characters] in the 'Star Wars' franchise but by what I think he symbolizes," says Dempsey. "Although he was a villain in the 'Star Wars' realm, he still cared about those who [were] dearest to him, hence why he couldn't kill Luke."

"Even after he died, he remained by his side, as seen in the last portion of Episode Six ('Return of the Jedi')," he continues. "I wanted to relay the message to my fiancée that no matter what, I will always be by her side, through the bad and the good, and in sickness and in health... to the farthest corners of the galaxy."

So, what was Amanda's answer?

Juuuust kidding. She said yes!

So for anyone out there who is struggling in love, just think: If only you knew the power of the Dark Side…
