Shawn Mendes already gave us "something big," but watch out, because the Vine star actually has something even bigger planned.

Since the release of his catchy single, "Something Big," last month, Mendes has been working "really really hard" on his debut album, and by the sounds of it, things are going well.

"I'm working really really hard on the album and I'm so excited for it to actually come out," Shawn told MTV News at KISS FM's Jingle Ball in Los Angeles. "I've never been more proud of a body of work than this, so I'm very excited to see reactions."

And he's pretty sure those reactions will be nothing but positive since he's keeping his old style -- but bringing more "depth" to the music and lyrics.

"It's going to be very similar to my old style, but lots of things that I think will surprise my fans," Shawn revealed. "There's almost this rap-sing song, which I think is going be super awesome for my fans to hear. I really get in-depth. The music is coming from my heart and I think my fans are going to love that; I hope so at least."

Shawn still doesn't have a release date or title for his debut effort, and as of right now, there are no collaborations locked in, but "you never know," he said.

I'm sure fans will be keeping their fingers crossed for a Shawn and Taylor Swift duet since he'll be joining Taylor as an opening act on her 1989 World Tour beginning in May.
