The search for Jessica Jones, the star of the Netflix-Marvel collaboration of the same name, which was said to be down to four actresses last month, may be over. According to Deadline, "Breaking Bad" star Krysten Ritter has landed the role of the PTSD-suffering former superhero who starts a private detective firm.
The site also reports that Marvel's decision came down to Ritter and "Warm Bodies" star Teresa Palmer.
Both of the actresses reportedly did chemistry tests with Mike Colter, one of the actors supposedly in the running for another Marvel lead, Luke Cage. Deadline took that as an indicator that Colter had secured the role, but didn't make the claim outright. Casting has not yet been confirmed.
"Jessica Jones" will be the second Marvel series to debut on Netflix, after next year's "Daredevil." "Luke Cage" will be the third, followed by "Iron Fist."
