This year, we were all spoiled with an insane amount of great sci-fi, a lot of which, like "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," was done on an enormous scale by incredibly clever filmmakers.

Now that the latest "Planet of the Apes" movie is available on digital platforms, we get take another look at the stunning sequel. As a part of that release, MTV has been given this exclusive look behind the scenes.

The apes' speech has evolved greatly since "Rise," and as the video above shows, the people making the movie put a ton of thought into that aspect of the film.

For example, Koba, the scene-stealing villain of the year, talks more when he's angry because of how easily it can flow from him when he's seething. It's a little touch that makes a more compelling and believable sci-fi movie.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" hits Blu-ray and DVD on December 2.
