The 'Mockingjay' Cast Reveal Their True Thoughts On Buttercup The Cat

Me-'ow'.

Even in the fictional land of Panem, there are two kinds of people: cat people, and not cat people.

It's safe to say that "Hunger Games" heroine Katniss, despite (or maybe because of) the first part of her name sounding like the creature, is not a cat person.

For example, this memorable interaction with little sister Prim's cat, Buttercup, in the first "Hunger Games" movie:

Yeah, not a cat person.

Buttercup causes significant distress in the new "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1." After Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) rescues him from the ruins of District 12 as a surprise for Prim (Willow Shields), the cat nearly inadvertently causes the deaths of, uh, most of the main characters. Bad cat.

In light of this anti-heroism, we asked "Mockingjay" cast members Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks and Natalie Dormer about whether they are pro or anti-Buttercup, holder of power in his tiny cat paws. Spoiler alert: Moore feels bad that Buttercup has "no cat friends." That's no excuse, Julianne.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" hits theaters November 21.
