The One Joke That Elizabeth Banks Couldn't Get Into 'Mockingjay'

The reign of mahogany terror has come to an end.

No matter where you look in District 13, there's no mahogany to be found.

That's the sad truth that Elizabeth Banks discovered when she filmed "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," reprising her fan-favorite role as Capitol denizen Effie Trinket.

Banks went from varicolored wigs to a refugee chic look for the movies, after her character was plucked from her cushiony Capitol lifestyle and forcibly relocated to the rebel headquarters at District 13. Not only is she missing her wigs, she's missing the luxurious surroundings of her former home. The new set made it hard for Banks to find a spot for a threepeat of her infamous mahogany references from the first two films.

"There's no freaking mahogany in District 13," Banks told MTV at the London press day ahead of the release of the film. "I probably should have just said that, like, 'why isn't this mahogany?' but it didn't work out. There was nothing to even point to. There's nothing that looks like wood down there."

Find out which adlibbed lines Banks managed to squeeze into "Mockingjay" in the clip above.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" hits theaters November 21.
