Fifth Harmony Electrify The 2014 MTV EMA Before It Even Starts

Also, Ally DESTROYED that high note.

Fifth Harmony jumpstarted the 2014 MTV EMA with an electric shock. The fivesome got heart rates rising with "Sledgehammmer" -- their TV debut of the new song -- during the U.S. kick-off show hosted by Nick Cannon.

The ladies -- dressed in all black -- twirled around their microphones and swapped verses without a flaw. "If you could take my pulse right now, it would feel just like a sledgehammer," the group sang, as they strutted the EMA Miami stage. Ally's high note topped the whole performance off, lighting up the stage despite the sheets of rain, which was pouring down on the crowd but was no match for Lauren's hair:

While Fifth Harmony lost the Artist On The Rise to 5 Seconds Of Summer, their hardcore Harmonizers put up an endlessly impressive fight, which had Camila Cabello fangirling over her fans on Twitter:

While Fifth Harmony may not have won the night's big award, they've got bigger things ahead -- like the release of their debut album, Reflection. And if their EMA performance of "Sledgehammer" is any indication of how exceptional their album will be, then they'll clearly be racking up the nominations -- and the awards -- next year.
