Lil Durk Is Facing Another Gun Charge

Durk will be in court on Thursday.

Lil Durk dodged some serious jail time in August and promised to stay out of trouble, but the Chicago rapper is once again in hot water, just three months later.

Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, was arrested on Wednesday morning and charged with weapons possession and will appear in court on Thursday (November 6). According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, the rising rap star was arrested after police went to an Orland Hills, Illinois home on Wednesday morning to investigate a homicide and found Durk standing near two guns, which were in plain sight.

"I got those pipes (guns) 'cause (expletive) always be tryin' to take my bands (money)," Banks said, according to the police report, which was obtained by the Tribune.

Durk's attorney couldn't confirm any of the details in the police report, but is confident that his client did nothing wrong. "No gun was ever in the possession of Mr. Banks. At all," he told the paper.

The rapper was handed an 18-month probation sentence in August after pleading guilty to 2013 gun possession charges; he could've gotten up to five years in prison. Instead, the judge gave Durk probation and urged him to use his voice and celebrity to help curb violence.

“The key word is I’ll be staying out of trouble,” Durk told the Chicago Tribune in August. “You can put a capital ‘N’ — for never.”

Lil Durk is currently working on his major label album debut Remember My Name.
