How 'Walking Dead' Producer Gale Anne Hurd Went From B-Movies To Hollywood Royalty

The veteran producer takes MTV News through one day on set of 'The Walking Dead.'

You may not know Gale Anne Hurd's name, but the prolific producer has been behind some of the biggest hits in movie and TV history, including "The Terminator," "Aliens," and now AMC's gigantic hit show "The Walking Dead."

So when MTV News headed down to the set of the show in Atlanta, we had to spend some time catching up with Hurd, following her around on her day as she interacted with cast and crew — as well as finding out more about just what a producer's role is in a show like "Walking Dead."

You'll want to watch the video tour of Hurd's daily life not just for "Walking Dead" stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun — or for the surprising news that "Walking Dead" was initially a hard sell to the networks — but also for Hurd's strong words on just how much things have changed for women in the entertainment industry since she started.

Though Hurd initially began learning and working for — and with — men like Roger Corman and James Cameron, she's now the head of her own company, Valhalla Entertainment, and one of the most powerful people in Hollywood.
