In between modeling, collaborating with DKNY, and acting, the World's Most Organized (and Fun) Model™ Cara Delevingne has magically found time to pursue a career in music. Today brings one more addition to her ever-expanding résumé, and no, it's not a collaboration with Pharrell Williams (yet). Cara has leant her masterful on-camera skills to Die Antwoord's new video for "Ugly Boy," a cut from their new Donker Mag album which was released in June.
Judging by her range of facial expressions between modeling and this video cameo—where she dons white and red face paint—Cara seems like she'd be just as good at acting. She clearly knows how to get into character.
She's at her most mischievous in the video, depantsing rapper Ninja, hopping onto his back, and running around causing mayhem.
As for her attire, Cara sticks with the video's general red-and-white palette. She wears oversized white T-shirt covered in red scribbles proving that, yes, she can pull off absolutely anything. The graphics look like they could have been made by L.A. artist Kesh, who's collaborated with American Apparel.
If it seems random that Cara—along with Dita Von Teese, Flea, Marilyn Manson, and Jack Black—is hanging out with Die Antwoord, remember that the spooky South African rap group have strong ties to the fashion world. Alexander Wang recruited the pair to model for his T by Alexander Wang line back for spring of 2012, and just this past fashion week, they were bumping elbows with Rihanna in the front row of his show.
The all-gold suits from the video look actually like they could have come out of the same collection as the blue anorak look Rihanna wore to Wang's show. Perhaps Wang made them custom for the video? Guess only time will tell, but until then watch the very absurd video below, and let us put up our prayer hands that Cara's next music foray is that rumored collaboration with Pharrell.
