Now you see Daniel Radcliffe, now you see him in a sequel to a summer 2013 movie about magic.
No, Radcliffe isn't returning to the capes-and-wands environs of Hogwarts and "Harry Potter," as much as we might hope that'll happen someday. Instead, he's stepping into the jetsetting plot of "Now You See Me 2." Lizzy Caplan joins Radcliffe as a series newbie.
Jon M. Chu will direct the sequel (Louis Leterrier helmed "Now You See Me") and original stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine and Dave Franco return.
Notably absent from the announcement is Isla Fisher, one of the main magicians/criminal masterminds dubbed the Four Horsemen. Fisher is currently pregnant with husband Sacha Baron Cohen's third child.
The synopsis for the film included in the release reads, "One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their mind-bending spectacles, the Four Horsemen resurface in 'Now You See Me 2' only to find themselves face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet."
Radcliffe was previously rumored to be playing the son of Caine's character, an insurance magnate who was robbed by the Four Horsemen in the first movie. Mysteries (and magic) abound!
"Now You See Me 2" hits theaters June 10, 2016.
