Tom Hiddleston Joins 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron,' But What's Loki Up To?

Heimdall's in town, too!

Next summer's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" already sports one of the most crowded casts in recent memory, what with Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and friends battling against James Spader's mechanical menace. Now, you can add two more familiar faces to the mix — both of whom hail from Thor's neck of the woods.

According to Idris Elba himself, both Heimdall

and Loki

are popping up in "Age of Ultron."

Elba tells The Telegraph that he's involved in a scene with both Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, but beyond that, very little is known. We can guess at what Heimdall and Loki are doing in Thor's latest adventure, though.

In the "Age of Ultron" clip shown at last week's major Marvel event, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers talk about confronting their dark sides, thanks to some mental meddling from Wanda Maximoff. The Scarlet Witch apparently showed each of the Avengers something awful (with Cap being the lone exception, because he has no dark side), and whatever she showed Thor was enough to make the Asgardian God fly off without warning.

Could Loki and Heimdall appear as part of Thor's Wanda-driven vision, leading the way to whatever happens in "Thor: Ragnarok"? That's one possibility. There are hundreds of other possibilities, too. We'll find out for sure in just a few months when the movie hits theaters.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" arrives on May 1, 2015.
