Channing Tatum's 'X-Men' Character Gambit Is Officially Getting A Spinoff Film

The card-slinging mutant will be coming to the big screen soon.

It's official! Channing Tatum's Gambit character from the "X-Men" series is getting his own spinoff, Deadline confirms.

Fox has set "Robocop" writer Josh Zetumer to compile the screenplay, which will be based on a treatment composed by the legendary Marvel Comics writer and Gamit originator Chris Claremont.

Channing has also been officially attached to produce and star as the card-slinging protagonist.

The storyline is currently being kept under wraps; however, MTV News caught up with the actor earlier this month ahead of the release of “Book of Life" where he us a little insight on his mutant passion project.

"I don't want to give too much away because we don't know that much right now other than who Gambit is," Tatum said. "We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We're obviously going to go for the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but not for the first one."

Okay Channing just keep us posted—we'll be waiting.
