Some of us have been fully on tenterhooks since 2013 for the release of "Serena," the long-delayed film featuring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as a Depression-era timber baron/baroness, passionately wooing each other in the forests of 1930s North Carolina.
But if you've been waiting for a bigger tease, here it is: a new trailer for the movie that dials up the romance and the intrigue, and hints at the darker motivations of the enigmatic title character.
This latest glimpse of "Serena" includes plenty of glamour shots of Lawrence decked out in period garb --breeches, finger-waved bob and all-- as well as a heavy focus on the movie's central romance.
But as you might have guessed, it isn't all love amongst the pines for Serena and George: among other things, there's a point at which the trailer cuts rapidly from Lawrence saying, "I did it for you!" to a scene in which it becomes pretty clear exactly what it must have been.
"Serena" will be in theaters February 2015.
