Emma Watson And 'Elle UK' Show Us What A Feminist Looks Like

Since she captivated the internet with her speech on gender equality, actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson has become one of feminism's celebrated crusaders. Emma also happens to be a celebrated style icon, so having her appear on ELLE UK’s first feminism issue seems like a total no-brainer.

It wasn't until she became famous that she decided to become an activist for equality and use her platform for good. "Doing this is my way of making sense of the fame, of using it. I have found a way to channel it towards something else, which makes it so much more manageable for me. And this is something I really believe in." Preach. Until we can read the full interview, we'll just have to marvel at the images where Emma wears her philosophies quite literally. Take, for example, the photo of her wearing a pullover that says, "This is what a feminist looks like." We all need one of those in our wardrobes.

On the cover, Emma looked elegant in a blue cut-out dress by Stella McCartney, which she sported sans accessories. Emma also kept her beauty game low key with some soft, beachy waves, light brown lids and her signature bold brows.

In the spread, she kept it decidedly androgynous in a black pair of overalls with a white shirt and, in another shot, while wearing a blazer and jeans. Side note: I hope there's a tutorial on how to get her slicked-back hair in the issue. ELLE UK’s feminism issue is out in December.
