Lil Wayne Drops New Carter V Release Date With Help From The Lox On 'Gotti'

Part one is coming soon.

For a second it seemed like Lil Wayne might've forgotten he was supposed to drop an album on October 28, but Tune was just waiting to make an announcement on his own terms. On Tuesday night he dropped a PSA confirming that Tha Carter V -- well, part one of it, at least -- arrives on December 9.

And in the meantime, we've got a new single featuring The Lox called "Gotti."

In his PSA, Wayne explains that he's just got too many songs to fit on Tha Carter V "This album means a whole lot to me and I know the real fans out there, it means a whole lot to them too," he said.

"So I kinda refuse to cheat them and just give them anything, and give them anything rushed. I recorded so many songs, and we had to come up with an idea or a way to get all the music out there and not just 13 or 12 songs."

He revealed that he's got about 31 songs on deck right now. The first part of Tha Carter V album will be dropping December 9, Which leaves us to wonder what happens to Da Other Album, which he told us that he'd drop two months after C5's release. Is it the same thing?

Either way, if any of those other songs sound like "Gotti," we're all ears. Listen below. And hear his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, Drake and Chris Brown on "Only."
