Sound the two-days-'til-Halloween alarm, y'all. I've provided a bunch of options over the past few weeks—from Nicki Minaj and her "Anaconda" backup dancers to Justin Bieber's mugshot—but now things are getting serious. You can tell because I am about to share with you the actual 2014 Halloween costume that I will be wearing on Friday. Seriously.
That's right, old Rust Cohle from True Detective, a.k.a. Matthew McConaughey with a #swag mustache is this Halloween's hottest costume. The best part? With the exception of the mustache, you probably own everything already cause, uh, no offense, but his wardrobe is pretty simple.
OK, so I'm gonna be real with you here: no one really remembers what Rust Cohle wore during his interrogation. I've been planning this costume for weeks and was floored to find out he didn't have a flannel shirt on. That said, you can probably get away with wearing some sort of chambray or plaid shirt, as long as you accessorize with a low ponytail, mustache, and a figure made out of a can. Oh, you don't know how to turn a cylinder into a tiny figure? I got you.
