Daniel Radcliffe Is Not Here For Your Sexist Sex Symbol Double Standard

He's not the first Hogwarts graduate to become an international sex symbol.

As a grownup movie star, it is now part of Daniel Radcliffe's job description to occasionally simulate sex onscreen, and we're all just going to have to deal with that. But if you're still having trouble seeing Radcliffe as anything other than a little boy wizard, his response to an interviewer last week might help you get over that hump.

After a reporter from the Associated Press mentioned the weirdness of seeing Radcliffe as a sex symbol -- a comment which Radcliffe has evidently heard about umpteen billion times -- the actor responded by pointing out that another of his "Harry Potter" co-stars doesn't seem to have this problem.

"My immediate response was, 'Well, the male population has had no problem sexualizing Emma Watson immediately,'" he said.

Which is such a compelling point! And it means that not only should we all feel free to go ahead and embrace Daniel as a sex symbol, but we can also love him extra hard for his sexy, sultry ability to call out double standards like this at the drop of a hat. The full interview can be seen here:

And if you only want the highlights, the entire beautiful monologue has also been gif-ed here, for your pleasure.
