Bronies, Alert! Your New Favorite Movie Is Coming To Theaters

Friendship is magic, and so are movies.

Giddy up and grab those reins because another one of your favorite childhood toys is coming to the big screen.

Following in the hoofprints footsteps of the "The Lego Movie" and the "Transformers" franchise before it, among others, a "My Little Pony" movie is galloping ahead in the development process, according to Variety. (No, not the ponies dancing to "Pony." The ponies that taught you about friendship and kindness and sparkly manes.)

Based on the classic Hasbro toys, the "Pony" movie will be animated, and is expected to hit theaters in 2017 through a production partnership between Hasbro Studios and Allspark Pictures. Allspark is also behind fellow throwback toy movie "Jem and the Holograms."

And for all the bronies out there worried about the "Pony" film's fan cred, quit your whinnying. Megan McCarthy, a producer and writer for the ever-popular "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" TV series will serve as co-executive producer on the movie. You're safe in her hooves, we assume.
