A$AP Ferg's New Album Is 'Almost Done,' But He's Got Something Else On The Way First

Ferg gives fans a few updates.

A$AP Mob have been relatively quiet this year, but it looks like they're getting ready to fully kick things back into gear soon. Last week, A$AP Rocky dropped "Multiply," his first new single in well over a year, which seemed to indicate that a new album is on the way. And it sounds like A$AP Ferg may not be far behind.

“It’s almost done," Ferg told XXL of his upcoming sophomore album. "I’m just tweaking it right now. I just want to get it in with a couple of more producers that I love, and it seems like the further I get into it I’m just trying to squeeze more magic out of it. So I think I’m just gonna keep going until the label tells me I can’t go on anymore, honestly.”

The Harlem native dropped his debut album, Trap Lord, back in August of 2013, which featured Rocky, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Schoolboy Q and more. Could Diplo and Skrillex be on board this time around?

"Maybe. You know, a lot of those people are my friends, so a lot of the times if I’m not working with them, we’re just vibing," he said. "But I can definitely tell you it’s going to be crazy and it’s the new Ferg; it’s not A$AP Ferg, it’s not Trap Lord, it’s Ferg and I’m giving my all and I’m going in. I’m going in deep, like I’m telling true stories and it’s gonna be crazy.”

Ferg has something else on the way, too, that should make his fans even more excited.

"I can tell you I have a mixtape dropping with DJ Drama soon," he told Complex. "Before the album."
