Sometimes it's easy to miss the changes of hands and heads in the fashion industry. Thankfully, we have Kanye West to be our eyes and ears. (OK, and WWD to officially break the news, but for better or for worse, I get all my news from Kanye, so whatever.) The Yeezus rapper tweeted earlier this morning about John Galliano taking the helm at Belgian fashion house Maison Martin Margiela. Fashion insiders might be surprised about Galliano's high profile position considering that he was unceremoniously let go at Christian Dior in 2011 for making Anti-Semitic remarks. However, he is without a question, a creative visionary and a master in his craft.
JOHN GALLIANO is the new creative director of MARGIELA, I heard this rumor when I was in Paris and just received confirmation this morning!— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) October 6, 2014
It is very exciting to see what powerful creatives do at different houses...— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) October 6, 2014
