Jay Z And Solange's Elevator Fight Makes It To 'Law & Order: SVU'

'SVU' rips another storyline from the headlines.

In 2014, elevators were the hot spot for huge celebrity scandals, and "Law & Order: SVU" will capture that phenomenon in this week's episode.

The show has been known to script episodes based on pop culture headlines -- like the Chris Brown and Rihanna-inspired show a few years back -- and this time Jay Z and Solange will get some of that spotlight.

Wednesday night's (October 1) episode of SVU, titled "American Disgrace," will be centered around a famous basketball player who is accused of sexual assault, and a portion of the storyline will focus on security footage from an elevator.

The tidbit was pulled not only from Jay and Solo's fight, but also from Ray Rice's assault on his now-wife. "SVU" showrunner Warren Leight told the Huffington Post that he wanted to capture the way these scandals broke -- with leaked video footage, minus audio.

"I loved the idea of just a silent black and white scene, then sound goes out," Leight said. "You kinda wanna know what's going on." And why end there? Even Donald Sterling's racists comments will somehow be incorporated.

The new episode of "Law & Order: SVU" will air Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
