John Green Wrote An Incredible Response To 'The Fault In Our Stars' Being Banned

Ok? More like KO.

In case you hadn't heard, a Riverside, CA schools committee banned "The Fault in Our Stars" from its middle school classrooms, during Banned Book Week no less.

The committee took issue with exposing the students to mortality and sexuality, because those are things that are not essential aspects of life, apparently.

But before I get too mad about the decision, I'll let "Fault in Our Stars" writer John Green take over. He published his official response to the banning on his tumblr after a fan asked how he felt about the decision.

"I guess I am both happy and sad.

"I am happy because apparently young people in Riverside, California will never witness or experience mortality since they won’t be reading my book, which is great for them.

"But I am also sad because I was really hoping I would be able to introduce the idea that human beings die to the children of Riverside, California and thereby crush their dreams of immortality."

Riverside schools committee, you just got Green'd.
