7 Emma Watson Moments That Should Inspire Us All

70,384 points for Gryffindor.

In case you've spent the last few months hibernating under the staircase at 4 Privet Drive, know that Emma Watson has been killing it lately. The erstwhile "Harry Potter" star has always impressed us with her talent, style, poise, and fearless individuality, but lately she's been ruling the roost outside of Hollywood as well.

From a groundbreaking new UN campaign to a simple, strongly-worded Tweet, here are the 7 times Emma Watson inspired our souls post-"Potter":

On Saturday, September 20, Watson showed the world why she was perfect for that UN Women Global Ambassador position when she introduced HeForShe, a gender equality campaign that seeks to involve men in the fight for women's rights, thus elevating and enlightening both genders in the process. You can check out Watson's full speech here, though this teaser should be enough to convince you:

"I want men to take up this mantle so their daughters, sisters and mothers can be free from prejudice but also so their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human, too and in doing so, be a more true and complete version of themselves."

2. When she laughed in the face of sexism.

Last July, Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said that women "should have chastity," and that they should not "laugh in front of everyone." Watson replied with the above photo, letting Arinc (and the world) know how hilarious this notion was to Ms. Hermione Granger.

3. When she spoke out against sharing stolen nudes.

You probably already know about (ugh) "The Fappening" by now, so we won't make it worse by putting those nasty, misogynist vibes into the universe again. However, we will share Watson's feelings about the people who choose to share stolen photos, then condemn their subjects:

4. When she graduated from Brown University.

Let's be honest, here -- most celebrities who reach mega, "Harry Potter" levels of stardom by Watson's age do not go to college. Which isn't necessarily a condemnation, it just means that they already have careers going and can't or won't find time to fit academia into their already busy lives.

Watson, however, chose to buck this trend by fitting in a freaking Brown University degree between Potter films, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and so on and so forth. It's hard enough to finish school while just attending school, but Watson made the whole insanely-busy-career-plus-school thing look effortless, capping off her cap and gown experience with this simple Tweet:

5. When she visited women in Uruguay to encourage their political involvement.

Watson delivered a 4,000-signature petition to Uruguay's parliament, calling for greater political participation by women.

6. When she won MTV's Trailblazer Award in 2013.

"You have supported me in all of my awkwardness and allowed me to grow into the kind of actress and the kind of person that I hope to be so thank you very much for that," she said in her speech. "If you truly put your heart into what you believe in, even if it makes you vulnerable, amazing things can and will happen."

7. When she spoke this epic truth.

Okay, so this one wasn't exactly post-Potter, but it's too important to not make the list. In 2007, when asked how Hermione Granger was a role model, Watson responded with:

"Hermione's not scared to be clever. I think sometimes really smart girls dumb themselves down a bit, and that's bad... I'm a bit of a feminist. I'm very competitive and challenging."

BONUS: When she nailed Wingardium Leviosa before Harry and Ron.

It should come as no surprise that Hermione was able to lock down the whole levitating objects thing before the boys, but it still bears mentioning -- this was the moment we first truly fell in love with onscreen Hermione, and by proxy the actress who played her.
