9 Actors-Turned-TV Directors That You May Not Have Known

I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. Cranston.

With so many episodes in a season, TV has always been a good place for directors to cut their teeth, and a lot of the time, it's where actors get their first taste of working behind the camera.

With a new season of TV just starting, we thought we'd look back at the actors who got some experience directing on television.

1. Bryan Cranston

Cranston went onto direct three episodes of "Breaking Bad," but he didn't limit himself to his own show. He also directed an episode of "The Office" and two for "Modern Family."

2. Robin Wright

The former "Daily Show" funny man was the heart and soul of the NBC mockumentary "The Office" for years, so it's no wonder that he got a chance to run things from behind the camera. Carell directed three episodes, including the very funny season five episode "Broke."
