Directioners, we've got good news and bad news. The good news is that a new One Direction album is coming. The bad? Well, we still don't know when -- but it won't be long!

On Monday, Zayn posted a photo of himself and Liam with the caption, "The new album is coming very soon and i'm very excited :D."

But Zayn and Liam weren't the only ones teasing us with album news. Niall also took to Twitter to share that the group's upcoming fourth album, the follow-up to Midnight Memories, is "by far my favourite yet."

The boy band recently took some time off of their Where We Are Tour to sit down with "Today" show co-host Carson Daly and revealed that they've written almost every song on the album and are going for a different type of sound this time.

“I think it’s going to be a little bit more edgy,” Niall said of the music they're recording. “But obviously, we feel like we’ve got some really good songs and we are happy.”

And 1D aren't the only ones happy with the 2013 follow-up. Their label boss, Simon Cowell, has heard the album and called it "fantastic."

"There's probably five or six tracks I've already heard that could be singles," Cowell recently told Capital FM. "There's some very different kinds of songs than what we've done before; they've taken a few more risks. Most importantly, the boys love writing, they love recording."
