In just 24 hours after the clip was released on August 19, Minaj logged 19.6 million hits on Vevo, breaking a single-day record previously held by Miley Cryus’ “Wrecking Ball.” Today, “Anaconda” has almost 84 million views, and it still has fans talking about her barely-there outfits and memorizing the impressive gyrations.
“I didn’t expect that. I didn’t even expect the picture getting the controversey it got,” she said. “For the video to break a record, I was like, ’What the?'”
