Drake Earns A Moonman For Best Hip Hop Video With 'Hold On We're Going Home'

Going home with a moonman, that is.

Drake went all in with a mafia-inspired story line for his “Hold On We’re Going Home” video and it clearly paid off, because he took home the moonman for Best Hip Hop Video at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

It’s always tough going up against Eminem at awards shows, but Drizzy managed to beat out “Berzerk,” Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead,” Childish Gambino’s “3005” and Wiz Khalifa’s “Black Skinhead” for the big win. Unfortunately, he wasn’t there to pick up the award himself, so Common accepted it on his behalf.

The Toronto rapper is currently busy with the Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour, which finds him pitted against his mentor on stage. So, we'll excuse him for missing this one. Last year, he actually performed "Hold On We're Going Home" live for the first time at the VMAs in Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
