Ariana Grande Explains The 'Unexpected' Collaborations On Her New Album

Iggy? Big Sean? ASAP Ferg? The VMA performer loves to keep people guessing.

I don't know what's more surprising: the fact that Ariana Grande has collaborated with literally almost everyone ever, or that she did it all on the same album.

We caught up with Ariana to ask her all about working with some of the Hip Hop, R&B and EDM world's rising stars.

"I feel like a lot of people were surprised by the collaborations, but I feel like I've always been a little unexpected with my collaborations," she told MTV News.

Grande's sophomore effort, My Everything -- out August 25 -- includes six features in total with the likes of Iggy Azalea ("Problem"), Zedd ("Break Free"), Big Sean ("Best Mistake"), Cashmere Cat ("Be My Baby"), Childish Gambino ("Break Your Heart Right Back") and A$AP Ferg ("Hands On Me"), plus a duet with The Weeknd ("Love Me Harder").

The LP's basically the sonic equivalent of the popular table in the lunch room, and yes -- you can sit with them.

"When I was Cat Valentine [her character on Nickelodeon's "Victorious" and "Sam & Cat"), I didn't think anybody expected me to come out with my first single with Mac Miller."

Ugh, love the way she keeps us on our toes.

Look for Ariana this Sunday at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, where she will perform twice -- once with Zedd on "Break Free" and again with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj on "Bang Bang" -- and compete in four different categories for one of the VMAs' coveted lil' Moonmen. So you know, typical Sunday for Ms. Ariana Grande.
