So "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" is expanding its superhero universe and can't lose with their latest casting choice: "Friday Night Lights" actress Adrianne Palicki. America: meet Marvel super-spy (and Mockingbird incognito — but more on that later!), Bobbi Morse!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Palicki's Morse will make her first appearance in the series in episode five — with a wide-open berth of possibilities on the "will she return?" front. Morse will pop into the agents' world under a, shall we say, less-than-helpful guise, causing more trouble than help for Agent Coulson and company.
It was first teased at Comic-Con this past July (by a "are we seeing double?" Patton Oswalt — he plays Billy and Sam Koenig) that Mockingbird would perhaps appear on the series, now that Life-Model Decoys have been confirmed to exist in this iteration of the Marvel Universe.
LMDs as they're often called for short, are a S.H.I.E.L.D-created robot avatar that recreates a living person through which its owner can then control out in the world.
And what does that have to do with Bobbi Morse? And who, exactly, is this Mockingbird anyway? Well, she's an agent at S.H.I.E.L.D. who — and this could be potentially spoiler-y for all of you out there who don't read the comics — helped expose double agents and other subversive types working within S.H.I.E.L.D.
She also has a serious history with Hawkeye. The duo, at first at each other's necks, eventually fell for each other and got married — after she proposed, no less! Talk about a woman that knows what she wants and has (we know, we can't help it!) clear eyes and full hearts.
