You can expect some big records from T. Mills when he drops his upcoming Columbia Records debut. And not just because the California native has been making those throughout his career. He's got some major reinforcements this time around, too.
"I got to work with one of my favorite producers ever, Dr. Luke, who's a legend," the 25-year-old said of the production heavyweight, who will be executive producing the album. "Just being in the room with that man is incredible. The things that I've learned, and his approach to writing songs and making music is definitely unique."
"I got Travis Barker on the album," he said. "Blink 182 has been my favorite band since I was 11- or 12-years-old. To have him feature on my major label debut was something special."
And though it sounds like it won't end up on the album, he's also got some stuff in the stash with Wiz Khalifa, who's something like his musical cousin. Both have a knack for crafting catchy melodies, balancing rapping and singing, and making big-sounding records. And soon, we'll be hearing the two on the same track.
"We played some shows last year: It was me, Wiz, Miguel. I've been a fan of Wiz forever," he told MTV News, adding that they clicked almost instantly. They had a mutual respect and admiration for each other, and laid the foundation for working together.
"He told me, Look, man, I'm a fan; take my number, let's kick it when we're in L.A. And so it just developed organically and he's a real dude. And everyone in his crew is super cool. We did get in the studio together. Obviously it's not out yet. I don't know when it'll be coming out, but it happened."
There's no release date for the project yet, but in the meantime, you can check out the video for "All I Wanna Do," off of his recent EP of the same name.
