The World's Smallest Woman Gets Her Big Break On 'American Horror Story'

A snap from the set shows Jyoti Amge in the arms of a very glam Jessica Lange.

With just two months to go before "American Horror Story: Freakshow" takes us back in time to a 1950s carnival, Ryan Murphy is still rounding out his cast. The director announced via Twitter today that a new actress is on board the series: Indian celebrity Jyoti Amge, who holds the Guinness World Record for being the world's smallest woman.

It's not clear how big a role Amge will play -- her on-screen experience thus far includes just one documentary and an Indian reality show -- but this tweet from Murphy showed the actress, who stands just over two feet tall, on set in the arms of "AHS" star Jessica Lange.

In addition to introducing Amge as the series' newest addition, the pic also promises that this season, which is rumored to be Lange's last, will send her and the rest of the cast out on a wave of high-camp glamour. Amge is sporting a sparkling bindi and a lush pink sari with a high sheen (satin, maybe?), while Lange has on a velvet robe with a black feather boa neckline, which is so fabulous that we actually can't stand it.

"American Horror Story: Freakshow" is set to premiere in October.
