Fan Spotting At Rihanna And Eminem’s Monster Tour: Stans, Hot Moms And An Adorable 8-Year-Old

One family came all the way from Hawaii.

Eminem and Rihanna fans come in all shapes, sizes and ages — and we’re pretty sure of it because we did some investigating when the super stars kicked off their Monster Tour in Pasadena, California, on Thursday night. Fans ranged from 8-year-old Cooper, who was checking out his first Em show with dad, to Donna, who came with her husband and sons from Hawaii, and one Stan who’s actually seen more Eminem concerts than I have — impressive.

Ashkan, 25

Here to see: “Eminem — but I appreciate Rihanna as an artist. She’s the icing on the cake, to see someone who’s a pioneer for rap music.”
Song I need to hear: “It goes in waves for me, because I’ve already seen him a lot. I saw him at Lollapalooza and I go wherever he is. I drove from California to Chicago just to see him. This is my fifth time seeing him, the first time was at Epicenter.”
What does “The Monster” in your head tell you?: “Well, I almost quit my job to come here because I asked for the time off five months in advance and they weren’t sure I could get it. So ‘The Monster’ told me to do whatever it takes to be here. He acts on instincts, so I follow my instincts and I’ll abandon my job and friends and be here alone if I have to.”
Stan bonus — What’d you think of Em making up with Debbie Mathers on MMLP2: “Now that I’ve matured, I would say it’s a really positive thing he’s doing. He was getting pretty carried away before, and you’ve gotta respect someone who’s humble enough to make an apology.”

Alisha, 22 (Ashkan’s girlfriend)

Here to see: “Eminem, but I love Rihanna.”
“I saw Em at Coachella with Dre and Snoop for three songs, with Ashkan, before we were dating so it was romantic.” (aww)

Daniel, 30

Here to see: “Rihanna, obviously.”
Song I need to hear: “‘Te Amo’ — It’s about a girl that’s in love with her but she doesn’t feel the same way so she pushed her away. I love it and she filmed a video for it in Paris and I really need to see it live. I’m gonna be ecstatic. I’m gonna flip out and go off the wall.”
What’s “The Monster” in your head telling you?: “It’s telling me that we all have monsters hidden inside of our head that no one knows about, so there’s nothing to worry about.”

Donna, 55

Song I need to hear: “I want him to open with ‘Rap God.’ I made a bet with my son for $5 — he thought ‘Berzerk’ would come first. We escaped a hurricane in Hawaii, and came all the way from Honolulu to see him tonight, so I’ll be jumping up and down.”
What’s “The Monster” in your head telling you?: “It’s telling me to relax, because this place is crazy.”

Masis, 23

Song I need to hear: “‘Monster’ by both of them. I’m about to freak out when she comes on stage. Freak out.”
What does “The Monster” in your head tell you?: “That Rihanna is the sh–.”

Cooper, 8 (and his dad Chad, 40)

Song I need to hear: “‘Rap God’ — I’m just gonna jump up and down when it comes on.”
What’s “The Monster” in your head telling you?: “Hi!!”

Harrison, 16

Here to see: Eminem
Song I need to hear: “This is my first Eminem concert and I need to hear ‘The Way I Am,’ ‘My Name Is,’ ‘The Real Slim Shady’ — and basically the whole Marshall Mathers LP. My mind is gonna be blown.”
What’s “The Monster” in your head telling you?: “‘The Monster’ is telling me, don’t listen to A$AP Rocky, listen to Eminem ’cause he’s better.”
Stan bonus — What’d you think of Em making up with Debbie Mathers on MMLP2: “She did screw him over earlier so I had mixed feelings, but I thought that was mature of him.”
