Warner Bros. Blinks First, Moves ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Release Date

More like Marvel V Warner Bros.

Annnnnnd we have a winner in the epic Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. May 6, 2016 release date stand-off.

Warner Bros. yielded to the box office punch today, officially moving “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” to a March 25, 2016 release, giving Marvel’s “Captain America 3″ free reign over early May.

Upping the ante, Warner Bros. also officially dated their slate through 2020 with nine additional DC Comics films and two event movies. The official list:

• Untitled DC Film – August 5, 2016
• Untitled DC Film – June 23, 2017
• Untitled DC Film – November 17, 2017
• Untitled DC Film – March 23, 2018
• Untitled DC Film – July 27, 2018
• Untitled WB Event Film – November 16, 2018
• Untitled DC Film – April 5, 2019
• Untitled DC Film – June 14, 2019
• Untitled DC Film – April 3, 2020
• Untitled DC Film – June 19, 2020
• Untitled WB Event Film – November 20, 2020

Perhaps Warner Bros. heeded Joss Whedon’s recent advice, and felt their singular style could stand alone as a success earlier in 2016? We’ll certainly have more details as the story develops.
