Hayley Williams needs a break. The Paramore singer has been grinding away all summer on the Monumentour with Fall Out Boy and New Politics, but due to exhaustion and a nasty infection she was forced to sit out Monday and Tuesday night's shows in, respectively, Corpus Christi and Dallas, Texas.
"Writing from my bunk to let you know that my doctor and my vocal coach have told me I can't play tonight either," Williams wrote on the band's site on Tuesday. "I have a chest infection and ... Something called 'exhaustion.' Ha. Words in this tiny little message cannot begin to express my frustration, sadness, and overall loopiness (the latter is likely just from the cortisone and antibiotics...ugh.)
"Corpus Christi, you've been on my mind since I woke up this afternoon and Dallas, you'll be on my mind the rest of the night. I absolutely hate canceling anything. Admitting defeat is a tough thing for this gal."
She thanked Fall Out Boy for extending their set on Tuesday night and said the rest of the tour is still on. "Doctor thinks I'll be good to go in the next day and certainly before the next show," she said. "Texas, the guys and I will be back to you as soon as we can. Pray for me if you pray. Fist bump me if you don't."
The next date on the tour is tomorrow night in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the outing is slated to continue through the middle of the month before Paramore goes overseas for some English festival dates. They will all hook up again for some more dates in late August.
