Olivia Wilde is a total badass. (This isn't so much opinion as it is, like, actual, Cool Girl Science.) She's the type you know you could probably be friends with because she's funny, smart, and frank. Only someone that confident and comfortable with who she is would be able to breastfeed her child during a high-fashion photo shoot for Glamour with acclaimed photographer Patrick Demarchelier.
Which is exactly what she did! Ain't no stoppin' this Wilde child, y'all.
Mostly because, y'know, her son with fiancé Jason Sudeikis, Otis, needs to eat every so often. But also: Wilde is one of those boss types who likes to tackle things that are weirdly (and nonsensically) taboo.
Yeah, people get really weirded out by images of women using what nature gave them as they were intended to be used. Wilde isn't having any of that poppycock, though. "You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed," she told the magazine.
She's also not afraid to be real on the matter. As she explained to Glamour: "[But] I mean, I certainly don't really look like that when I'm [typically] breast-feeding. And there's usually a diaper involved."
Still, Wilde found the whole endeavor important, showcasing the myriad aspects of who she is in one photo. "Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that," the actress said. "Breast-feeding is the most natural thing. I don't know, now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast. It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing—that we know we can be."
I'm sorry but bow down, y'all. Bow.down.
