Beyonce Nails One Of Fall's Most Popular Trends

After being called out by the New York Times for not being a fashion icon, Beyonce might have just subtweeted (sub-grammed?) the newspaper by showing off how effortlessly she wears one of the fall's most popular trends. Looking gloriously high fashion, Queen B. posted a pic of her most daring look yet: a white skirt layered over white pants. Take that, haters. Bey styled the bold combo with a butterfly-sleeve black crop top, a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses, some gladiator heels, and Charlotte Olympia's eye clutch, which is still on sale for a cool $1,995.

Bey's skirt-over-pants look might seem a little ~out there~ but it's actually been slowly building in #FASHUN circles over the past couple of years. Back in 2012, Emma Watson tried it out on the red carpet during a Perks of Being a Wallflower screening. She was right on trend wearing it not long after Chanel championed the look during their Fall/Winter 2012 show and then Givenchy, Haider Ackerman, and more followed suit during their Spring 2013 shows.

The trend was also popular on the runways for Fall 2014—it made appearances in the 3.1 Phillip Lim and Dior shows—and now with a Bey seal of approval, we have a feeling we should stock up on as many skirt-and-pant combos as we can.
