Vince Vaughn In Talks For ‘True Detective’ Season Two

You're in Carcosa, baby. You're so in Carcosa, and you don't even know it.

Did anyone have Vince Vaughn on their wishlists for “True Detective” season two? If you did, wow, because according to TVLine, the “Wedding Crashers” actor is in preliminary talks for one of the three lead roles in the second season of HBO’s anthology series.

If Vaughn signs on, he could join Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch, who were both rumored to be in various stages of negotiations with the cable network.

Based on what series creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto has shared about his next story, we know that the next season will follow three or four leads — one of which is supposedly a woman — and it will take place in California.

Though Vaughn definitely wasn’t on many of those fantasy casting lists fans passed around after season one, I think he could be a good fit. The last few years have been hard on Vaughn, who hasn’t managed to replicate hits like “Old School” and “The Wedding Crashers” recently, but he seems like just the type that could completely surprise people with a dramatic turn.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.
