Remy Ma Released From Prison A Day After Initial Release Was Delayed

The Bronx native is coming home.

Well, that was a quick fix.

After Remy Ma’s initial prison release date on July 31 passed without her becoming a free woman, just a day later, on Friday (August 1), she’s been released, according to Miss Info.

The hold up came because of a “third party calling” violation on July 21, and although a public information officer for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision told MTV News on Thursday that they expected the matter to be resolved “sometime in the next week or so,” things appear to have moved quicker than that.

As of press time, a call to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision had not been returned, but an inmate lookup on their website lists Remy’s status as “released.”

She had been serving an eight year sentence which began in 2008 after she was found guilty on two charges of assault for a shooting.

Remy herself seemed to confirm the release on Instagram.

Hopefully, we’ll be hearing more from her soon.
